There are many small changes that individuals and communities can make to reduce their carbon footprint and help address climate change. Here are a few examples:
- Use energy-efficient appliances and turn off electronics when they’re not in use to reduce energy consumption.
- Plant trees or support reforestation efforts to help absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimize the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
- Support clean energy sources such as solar and wind power.
- Use public transportation, carpool, or walk or bike instead of driving alone to reduce emissions from transportation.
- Support environmentally-friendly products and practices at home, at work, and in your community.
- Eat a plant-based diet or reduce your consumption of animal products to decrease your carbon footprint.
- Support organizations and policies that work to address climate change.
- Educate yourself and others about climate change and how to reduce its impact.
By making these and other small changes, you can make a big difference in the fight against climate change.
